Lunar Ephemeris

She married the night
when the moon was split
in half, and sang on top of it.

The moon in her insecure craters

she married the night
before everyone else on stage
hiding her face with a a hat’s brim

as bright as the spotlight.

She married the night
and the moon was nothing
but a monolith, dusty and white

while she danced on its seas and sides.
